You can configure your domains to use BrandShelter NS (or DNS) servers from the "Domains" tab of your customer portal:
- Go to the "Domains" tab and then click on "Portfolio".
- Identify and select the domain(s) you wish to modify.
- Hover over the "Edit selected domains" option and click on "Edit domain details".
Scroll down to the "Nameservers" section. In the dropdown menu, choose indifferently the "BrandShelter (Default)" or "SafeBrands Standard" name server set from the available options.
Please note that you will probably have only one set available: "BrandShelter (Default)" or "SafeBrands Standard"
- Click on “Save”. Once the change is successful, you will receive an email confirming the changes made to the name servers (NS) for the selected domain(s).
Example/template of a received confirmation email:
Note: By default, your domain is installed on BrandShelter DNS servers − BrandShelter (Default) or SafeBrands Standard indifferently − when you register it, unless you specify otherwise when adding your DNS client server (a set of external DNS servers that you will need to create).
When creating your new DNS server set, you can add as many DNS servers as you want (primary and secondaries).
The changes are automatic and take effect in any case after a propagation time of 24 to 72 hours following validation.
Please note: If you change your DNS servers by replacing BrandShelter DNS servers − BrandShelter (Default) or SafeBrands Standard NS set − with external ones, yours or those of another provider, in order to outsource the DNS management of your domain, you will no longer be able to use the custom DNS zone management or rerouting services (web/mail) available on your BrandShelter Customer Portal.
